All new buildings of MCUT are constructed on brownfield land. A portion of the school’s 16-hectare campus originally donated by Nan Ya Plastics was brownfield. The Innovation Building has been constructed on part of the existing brownfield land. The school began construction of the R&D building on the brownfield land in 2024 and is expected to be completed in 2027. The building will be an important base for promoting industry–university collaboration and supporting the future development of the university.
