MCUT’s policy on minimizing the use of disposables is in line with the control regulations announced by the Ministry of Environment and the Environmental Protection and Safety and Health Policy under ISO 14001 management system. To fulfill the commitment to sustainable development, MCUT strictly requires the contractor to comply with the environmental protection policy, for example, plastic straws, eating utensils, drinking cups and carrier bags are banned in the canteen. The university’s procurement of products with the energy-saving label totaled TWD 14,156,000 in 2023. From 2019, we have been awarded the Excellence Award for Green Procurement Performance by the New Taipei City Government for five consecutive years, further showcasing our results and demonstration toward implementing the environmental protection policy.
