MCUT’s policy on minimizing the use of disposables is formulated in accordance with the Ministry of Environment’s “Regulations for Control of Disposables” as well as the on-campus Environmental Protection and Safety and Health Policy under an ISO 14001 management system. The policy includes (1) the prohibition of disposable plastic straws, eating utensils, cups and carrier bags in the canteen; (2) providing eco-friendly stainless steel lunch boxes to new students upon enrollment, and conveying the idea of reducing the use of disposables to the faculty and staff in their daily lives; and (3) providing eco-friendly cups free of charge to all faculty and staff for daily use and at meetings.
