7.2.3 Carbon reduction and emission reduction process(2022)
The university established the "Green University Promotion Committee" in 2006. In 2022, it passed the university's net-zero carbon emission path and sustainable development planning process. Measures and achievements include: (1)Installation of a total solar capacity of 413.06 kWp. (2)Planning and implementation of a power monitoring and energy management system to control carbon emissions. For example, the entire campus Energy Use Intensity (EUI) was 84.83 kWh/square meter in 2022, showing a continuous reduction for three consecutive years (2021 EUI: 85.12, 2020 EUI: 92.64). (3)Greenhouse gas inventory for the entire campus, collecting and tracking energy and carbon emission distribution data. (4) Ongoing replacement of LED lighting in various buildings and the use of smart streetlights on campus roads. (5) Increasing recycling of resource waste to promote resource reuse. (6)Implementation of paperless meetings, saving a total of 4,690,634 printed pages as of April 2023.
