12.2.4 Policy waste disposal - landfill policy(2022)
The university's waste disposal policy aligns with the government's Waste Disposal Act and incorporates the ISO-14001 management system. General waste is either incinerated or recycled. Waste collection and disposal are entrusted to approved contractors by the competent authority, who manage the waste as per the contract and then compile statistics on the types and quantities of the waste recycled. Each unit has resource recycling storage facilities where waste is sorted, collected, and transported by dedicated resource recycling vehicles for processing. Non-recyclable waste is managed by contracted companies and transported to the New Taipei City Incineration Plants. In 2022, the incineration of general waste amounted to 313 tons, and resource recycling (including batteries) amounted to 73.98 tons. To reduce the total amount of waste, the university has established the “Second-Hand Market Management Principles.”
