12.2.3 Policy waste disposal - hazardous materials(2022)

update date : 2023-11-07

Hazardous waste generated by the university primarily originates from its laboratories. The disposal of both general and hazardous industrial waste complies with the Waste Disposal Act and Regulations Governing the Management of Laboratories. The waste is properly collected and entrusted to a Ministry of Environment-approved transportation and disposal company. Records of waste disposal are meticulously maintained. General waste disposal methods include incineration or resource recycling. Each unit has resource recycling storage facilities where waste is sorted, collected, and transported by dedicated resource recycling vehicles for processing. Kitchen waste from the cafeteria is collected and recycled by an outsourced company. Pruned branches and fallen leaves on the campus are collected and processed into leaf compost. Non-recyclable waste is managed by a contracted company and transported to New Taipei City Incineration Plants.
