7.2.6 Divestment policy(2023)

In order to eliminate carbon-intensive energy, MCUT has established the Battery Research Center of Green Energy and Intelligent Carrier R&D Center, with resources invested including (1) approximately TWD 51 million in the Research Center of Green Energy in 2023; the Center and Formosa Smart Energy invested TWD 220 million in the construction of a solid-state lithium battery pilot production line, developing key technologies for the next-generation lithium batteries and expanding diverse new energy applications; (2) approximately TWD 170 million in the Intelligent Carrier R&D Center in 2023 to promote a zero-emission commercial electric truck industry ecosystem; (3) developing the 2nd phase of the campus solar power project with an installation capacity of 560 kWp estimated; and (4) installing energy storage cabinets with an energy conversion efficiency of 86%.
