In line with the UN’s SDGs and the government’s net-zero by 2050 goal, MCUT has implemented a carbon reduction management process, including (1) formulating a carbon reduction pathway for 2050 and compiling an energy policy, with 2010 as the base year; (2) introducing ISO 14064 in 2023 and continuing to inventory GHG emissions of the previous year, with the 2023 ISO 14064 GHG inventory certification expected to be obtained in November 2024; (3) strengthening energy management according to the energy monitoring system and opting for electrical equipment that enhances energy efficiency; and (4) creating a GHG inventory system to systematically collect data on CO₂ emissions from electricity, faculty and staff commuting, and business trips.
