MCUT pledges to promote 100% renewable energy, including (1) signing the Talloires Declaration in 2014 and formulating the sustainable development policy for the environment; (2) announcing at the “2022 Net Zero Emission Strategy Conference” that MCUT encourages and supports faculty research on renewable energy, carbon reduction, and green energy; (3) signing the “University Sustainable Development Initiative” with Chang Gung University, Chang Gung University of Science and Technology, and TAISE in 2022 to commit to achieving the sustainable development goals; (4) adding the 2nd phase of the solar energy construction project into MCUT’s medium- and long-term plan to increase the proportion of renewable energy; and (5) showcasing MCUT’s 10 new environmental sustainability, renewable energy, and low-carbon technologies at the 2023 Taiwan Innotech Expo.
