17.2.1 Relationships with NGOs and government for SDG policy(2023)
In 2023, MCUT promoted the sustainability policy which included (1) the faculty serving as board and committee members and team leaders in NGOs and government agencies to jointly formulate policies for sustainability goals; (2) working with MOE, ITRI, and TBA to promote the “Talent and Technology Cultivation Project for the Energy and Battery Industry” to facilitate green energy transition; (3) joining hands with SOW to survey waste in the Tamsui River, and disposable waste, such as plastic containers, accounted for 68% of the total waste, providing important evidence for plastic source reduction initiative; (4) signing the “University Sustainable Development Initiative” with TAISE to demonstrate dedication to the sustainability of a university of science and technology; and (5) since 2002, 448 foreign students from 24 countries enrolled in the university and over 600 students have had internships overseas to help broaden their international perspectives.
