Notice on Internship Rights and Interests for International Students

I                 , was admitted to the         , Undergraduate Program (Day Division),                  Academic Year at Ming Chi University of Technology. I hereby confirm that I fully understand and accept the following terms, and upon enrollment, I am willing to comply with the university's relevant regulations and supporting measures to obtain credits for the "Work-study Practicum" course. The same shall apply in the event of a major transfer, with no objections whatsoever.

(Please read the following terms carefully. Proceeding will be deemed as acceptance of these terms.)

    1. I acknowledge that, in accordance with the Employment Service Act (Article 50) of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and the Regulations on the Permission and Administration of the Employment of Foreigners, international and overseas Chinese students who are not nationals of the R.O.C. and wish to work while studying in Taiwan must prepare the required documents and apply for a work permit from the Workforce Development Agency of the Ministry of Labor. Except during winter and summer vacations, weekly working hours shall be limited to a maximum of 20 hours. Working without a work permit will result in a fine pursuant to the Employment Service Act, and in serious cases, may lead to immediate deportation and a ban on entering Taiwan for 3 years.
    2. I acknowledge that all undergraduate students in the Day Division of the University are required to undertake a one-year "Diverse Learning Modules" course during their third year. Due to the aforementioned restrictions, the job/internship vacancies the University can provide to international and overseas Chinese students cannot be identical to those for domestic students. If I choose to take the "Work-study Practicum" course, I must fully cooperate with the arrangements made by my department/program. In the event that no placement is matched with a host organization, an "alternative option" consisting of unpaid on-campus project work will be assigned to fulfill the course requirements and obtain the credits for the "Multimodal Learning Module" course.
    3. Any matters not covered herein shall be governed by the University's "Regulations for Undergraduate Internship Courses" and relevant laws and regulations of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
    4. The ultimate right of interpretation of this notice of rights and interests shall vest in the University, and I, the student, raise no objections whatsoever.
