7.2.2 Upgrade buildings to higher energy efficienc(2022)

update date : 2023-11-07

We are dedicated to improving the energy efficiency of existing buildings and increasing the utilization of green energy on campus. Achievements include:(1) Implementing the ISO 14001 environmental management system, regularly collecting and tracking water and electricity consumption to develop energy-saving measures. Measures include installation of smart meters, LED lighting, and power monitoring.(2) Installation of solar photovoltaic panels across the campus. In 2021, solar panels were installed in the Mechanical Engineering Building, Innovation Building, and Teaching Building, with capacities of 85.5 kWp, 125.02 kWp, and 202.54 kWp, respectively, totaling 413.06 kWp. This represents 3.98% of the university's electricity consumption of 436,920 kWh in 2022.(3) Collaboration with Formosa Plastics Transport Corporation to set up energy storage containers. These containers charge during off-peak hours and discharge during peak hours, achieving an energy conversion efficiency of 86.13%.
