7.4.2 100% renewable energy pledge(2022)

In 2014, the university signed the Talloires Declaration, formulating environmentally sustainable development policies to promote 100% renewable energy. At the "2022 Net Zero Emissions Strategy Conference," the university expressed its encouragement and support for teachers to research renewable energy, circular economy, energy conservation and carbon reduction, and green energy. The presidents of the university, Chang Gung University, and Chang Gung University of Science and Technology, along with Eugene Chien, the chairperson of the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE), jointly signed the "University Sustainable Development Initiative" in 2022. They pledged to implement environmental sustainability and work towards achieving sustainable development goals while enhancing the influence of universities. Notable achievements include eight new technologies, including green energy, 5G antennas, and medical materials, showcased at the 2022 Taiwan Innotech Expo.
